21st @ Ben's Publika

Harrrrrrrrro ヽ(;▽;)ノ

Sorry for the sudden hiatus again but just so you know I'm still kicking alive in Penang yo! Been pretty occupied with presentation and de-stressing myself at the same time but I'll definitely be back with more food posts soon! But lemme clear some of my never-ending pending posts first :P

I know this is super delayed (after two months tsk tsk), so this is one of my many 21st birthday celebrations, with the lovelies this time round. This was be my third year celebrating with them but too bad this year, the surprise somehow wasn't that successful :P maybe cause I was just too smart to figure it all out HEHE and but yeah I killed the fun myself. So they took me out on the night of my birthday's eve and off we went to Publika. I was secretly hoping that they would bring me to S.Wine cause I've been wanting to try their food   *hint hint* but we ended up in Ben's, not that I'm complaining HEH But still thanks so much for the dinner treat and the present (':

It took some time for the food to be served, thank goodness we had this table topics to keep us occupied.
Sexiest food? ROFL

Mushroom Lasagna

Spaghetti Carbonara

Spaghetti Bolognese

You must be lucky cause I'm posting this never -seen-duckface here! :P
Doing what girls do best after dinner while waiting for the right time to surprise me with cakes HAHAHA

Just when I was about to order dessert (which I have been anticipating for!), they surprised me with these cakes with the staff from Ben's (':  Even few of the diners sang along the birthday song *blush*

The next thing you know, they are trying to smash the cake on my face. It has now become our sort of norm every year, the best time to get your revenge on each other :P

The end result? So 'dirty', IKR? Tsk tsk, cause obviously the cake was too swallow and it didn't has much cream on it! I win HURHURHUR

This brownie cake is delish and I'm having it all to myself *ngek ngek*

Thank you for the cute handmade card (':
Gotta admit that I teared a little while I was reading it, love them to bits!

Couldn't resist so just have to remove the mustache from the card and take photo with it :}D

Honestly speaking, there were nothing great to shout out about the food.I heard their dessert are pretty good, yet to have the chance to try it. The service was so-so as well.

Up North

Hello from Penang! *waves*
I'm currently leeching wifi in Starbucks so it will be just another short post to keep my blog updated HEH Headed up to Penang yesterday morning and thank God for the fine weather though it was raining heavily earlier and surprisingly there was no traffic jam.

Few photos I took throughout the journey;

Finally, we're almost reaching the much awaited Penang YAYYYYY

We're on the Penang bridge yaw! *jakunnnn*

And oh spotted MAHSA adv towards the end of the Penang Bridge! LOLOL

We safely arrived at 3-ish! :D Somehow the GPS couldn't find most of the places in Penang and since none of us are from Penang, we had to drive around aimlessly while asking around for  directions and trying to figure out where to go #failedGPS and there are so many cars everywhere T__T Hopefully by a week time, we would be familiar with the roads and stuff.

Big thanks to Henry Tan for bringing us around Penang today! :P
So glad that it's sunny here in Penang B)
Joeann and I (:
Managed to try the famous Penang Teochew Cendol at Lebuh Keng Kwee :D

And as for now, I'm having mixed feelings for tomorrow; my first day of clinical posting in Penang GH. Excited yet nervous cause I haven't really been studying over the one week holiday but let's just hope all is well *fingers crossed*

P/S: Penang langs, do recommend me places to go or food to try :DDDDDDDD

Till then, have a great week ahead!

Fishytail braids

Last Sunday, I decided to finally learn how to do a fishytail braid cause I have nothing better to do, obviously HEH You can google up if you have no idea what a fishytail braid is, it's actually called fishtail braid but I purposely added the y to make it sounds cuter (x

Anyways, it's not really the new trend or something, it's been a while since last year I think. I searched for tutorial videos on youtube (duh!) and found this video which shows the easier version of fishtail braid and she explains it quite clearly. It turned out to be way easier than I thought! I find other videos either to fast for me to catch up (maybe it's just me who is slow to pick up HAHA) or it's only video without anyone speaking, weird much. So here goes!

And showing you my #1 attempt on fishytail braid;
..which ended up looking like the normal french braid T_T So the trick is to take smaller chunks of hair to cross over, geddit geddit? Btw, I like how my hair looks so soft here.

TIP: Do practise in front of a mirror, it makes things easier and faster, at least for me (:
Then, it gets better with the #2 attempt! Like they always said, practice makes perfect :D I can see the difference, can you?
Last but not least, my #3 attempt and I'm loving it!
Nice not? ( ´▽`)
But how come it still doesn't look like the one in the video? HMPHHH D:
Maybe cause I don't have thick hair and I wish I have highlights then the braid would look pretty!
#OOTD
And this is me, going out with the fishytail braid and ignore my ugly fringe that is not behaving that day.
Mint Crotchet top; Cotton On
Spaghetti Strap & High Wasit Short; Forever 21
Flats; H&M
Bag; Charles and Keith
So do try out the fishtail braids and show it to me :D It's so easy, you can even have style it on a daily basis and say goodbye to the plain ol' french braid ~

Hope y'all are enjoying your holidays as much as I do!ヽ(*⌒∇⌒*)ノ Till then,
xx.

Marche Movenpick Restaurant

Let's go all the way back to September where I celebrated my 21st birthday this year and yes I'm only blogging about it now #lazyblogger IKR teehee Anyways, it was indeed an unforgettable 21st birthday cause I had 6 celebrations in total this year. It's not about the gifts and food that I look forward every year but the time I get to spend with the people I love (: So this would be about the first celebration I had at Marche Movenpick Restaurant with my most awesome sister and her bf.

We had quite a hard time deciding where to dine at the Curve, sometimes too much choices to choose from is not a good idea. Since we never tried Marche, so we thought why not? (:
The entrance of Marche.
I bet most of you would come across the green cow just beside Starbucks along The Street @ The Curve and that's where Marche is (:

Marche has this interesting concept where it has display cooking and offers the feeling as if you were eating in a market with high standard of freshness and quality. The cooks will prepare the meals right in front of the customers, and you'll have to order and collect it yourself at the respective counters. Just so you know, Marche (say Mar-shay) means "market" in French.
The place is quite huge and there's a few different places that you can dine at.
Oh btw, there will be more photos of the interior rather than the food, so yeah HEH ready for the tour? Let's get started, shall we? :P

The guest card that will be given to each customer before entering Marche. You'll have to bring it along when you're ordering your food for the cooks to stamp on it.
Make sure you don't lose your guest card (;

First stop, the vegetable counter.

The vegetable counter decorated with fake vegetables on display :P

Mushroom definitely caught my attention right away! Just have to have a plate of sautee mushroom :D

Next to the vegetable counter is the rosti counter!

You can have add-ons on your rosti with additional charge or just plain rosti.

Condiments to go with your rosti.

Then we have the the grill counter with side dishes at additional charges as well.

Fresh meat on display.

They have seafood too at the grill counter.
The pasta counter is at the opposite of the grill counter.
Then we have the beverages counter. Coffee, tea or me? HEHEHE

Fresh homemade juices available as well :D

I like how they display the juices, pretty cool eh?

Wine, anyone? (;

Pizza counter!
Soup counter, I'm obviously running out of caption LOL

They have salad bar as well (:

Not forgetting, the dessert counter...

and Haagen Dasz ice creams too!
Then again, with so many choices to choose from, I can't decide what to eat HAHA but in the end, I settled with Sirloin Steak :9
Don't you just love the cosy ambiance? Cause I do.

My passionfruit lemonade, pretty good for a thirst quencher. Surprisingly, it doesn't turn out as sour as I expected.
My sauteed mushroom!
Somehow, I got jelak' after a few mouth of it but I still love mushrooms okay (x

My sirloin steak with no side dish cause they didn't have baked potatoes with bacon that day T___T
And I didn't really like the sauce, still prefer my all-time-fave brown sauce to go with my steak.
Grilled chicken chop with mashed potato and black pepper sauce.

Rosti with beef bacon and that's sour cream at the side. My first time trying out rosti and I like it!

Let's dig inヽ(;▽;)ノ

My juicy medium well steak with a slight taste of the 'blood'; just how I like my steak to be.

UGH Why does my face look so puffy here //hides
Our guest cards at the end of the meal (:
Thank you, come again! (*⌒∇⌒*)

Not sure if I will revisit this place cause it's a bit pricey to me yet the sister seems to like this place compared to me. I would recommend people to come in a larger group so you get to share and try out more food, it would be more worth it that way. Food quality and presentation wise, I would definitely give them a thumb up.

Last but not least, thanks to the sister for the birthday dinner treat ♥(ʃƪ´⌣`)
