Of The Avengers and Sushi Zanmai

Finally a proper movie & dinner date with the baby boy after his exam last Friday (: Lucky that we managed to book tickets to watch The Avengers a week earlier cause I heard this movie are fully booked in most cinemas for the weekends :O You know what's even better?
RM10 for a new movie, reasonable much (:

The Marvel Avengers; the movie that most of you has been anticipating since last year!
Despite the numerous postive feedbacks that I saw from FB and twitter, I hold back and refused to read any reviews before watching it. Say no to spoilers! :P I went it with no expectations since its trailer seemed meh to me but hell was I wrong. It was a 2 hours plus entertaining, action-packed movie BAM BAM BAM and deftly humorous, enjoyable indeed. Not forgetting, the super hot sexy hot hot Captain America (Chris Evans) and Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr) that I couldn't get my eyes off *swooooon (´∀`)♡ *   I was kinda surprised to see Cobie Smulders who plays Robin Scherbatsky in HIMYM in this movie, I don't think she's cool enough to be an agent LOL Must be too much of HIMYM! And oh, don't forget to stay back and watch the post-credit scene! :D Cut long story short, I would rate this movie 9/10. Totally worth every penny so don't miss out!
After the dinner, we headed to Sushi Zanmai (DUH, WHERE ELSE) for dinner! :P It's been a month, the last time I had was before I went to Terengganu. Die die also must have it before I fly back to Sarawak this week.
A proper photo of us (: Awkward lvl: 1000xx
Here, more like it, more like US! ♥
You ready? Here comes the glorious food; don't say I didn't warn you! Do not view with an empty stomach TEEHEE
#1. Baby's fave soft shell crab temaki OMNOMNOMZ

#2. Chuka Lidako; craving satisfied!
#3. My must order: Inari kanimayo yaki (:

#4. Medium cooked Teriyaki Beef with Garlic; we decided to try something new and it turned out superb!

Don't you want some? Screw diet >.<
#5. Salmon Don; decided to go for something healtier! (:
And of course not forgetting his #6. Large Chicken Katsu Udon that he never get tired of eating over and over again -__-

Side tracking; went on a retail therapy last week with Joeann and Belinda who decided to join last minute      (*´・v・) which turn out to be productive, all thanks to her awesome shopping skill.
Guess how much I paid for all these? .... FREAKING RM22 only! ಠ_ಠ  YES, I KID YOU NOT.
Cropped top; RM7.50 (Pavilion branch)
Booster bra (Super comfy and good quality); RM5 (Sg Wang branch)
Sandals; RM5 (Sg Wang branch)
Bracelets; RM4.50

Such a steal right; if it wasn't for Belinda who went and find in every corner of the store, we wouldn't have found this cheap stuff (: Original price of the bra was like RM60 (Belinda and Joeann bought 3 bras each, crazy or not HAHA) and the sandals were like RM40. We were damn lucky cause the remaining sandals are of our sizes, so each of us grabbed a pair and even bought a pair of Elin. YAY WE NOW CAN HAZ MATCHING SANDALS :P The cropped top was actually priced at RM15 but when I was about to pay, the cashier told that they have further reduction so yeah (:

Finally found this Balenciaga-inspired collar tips top that I've been wanting for so longヽ( ^ 。^ )丿
Although it was slightly overpriced but definitely worth getting for its quality! To pair it up, I also got myself the Zara inspired assymetrical skirt (another one in my wishlist and it's one of top trend this Spring!) for RM30 when it's sold for like RM60 and above in online blogshops.

Here's photo of me, just in case you forgot how I looked like HEH Last but not least, have a brand new awesome week!

Still in the midst of clearing tons of pending posts, just so you know I'm not done with posts on Terennganu yet so bear with me T_T I'm trying my best! Anyhooo, sayonara! (^ _ ^)/

Dr' Seuss The Lorax 2012

All thanks to Churp2 for the invitation, I get to watch The Lorax 3D earlier last Friday (2.3.2012) which was also Dr' Seuss 108th birthday!
Our tickets and we've got pretty good seating.

Synopsis: The 3D-CGI feature Dr. Seuss' The Lorax is an adaptation of Dr. Seuss' classic tale of a forest creature who shares the enduring power of hope. The animated adventure follows the journey of a boy as he searches for the one thing that will enable him to win the affection of the girl of his dreams. To find it he must discover the story of the Lorax, the grumpy yet charming creature who fights to protect his world. -- (C) Universal
PG: 1 hr. 34 min.
Genre: Animation, Kids & Family
This is Thneedville, that was once filled with colourful cotton candy look alike Trufulla trees everywhere!

The giant furry peanut and the cute animals from Thneedville. That's three humming fish on the left, they can live w/o water! HAHA

I am the Lorax. I speak for the trees. I speak for the trees, for the trees have no tongues.

Thanks to your hacking my trees to the ground, there's not enough trufulla fruit to go round.

Zac Efron and Taylor Swift as the voices behind the 12 years old Ted (main protagonist) and Ashley, an older girl who's studying in high school and Ted has a crush on her. Just so you know, the characters of Ted and Audrey are named after Dr. Seuss (whose real name was Theodor Seuss Geisel) and his second wife Audrey Geisel :O
You'll definitely recognize her! Betty White who plays Ted's grandma.
One of my fave scene from the movie! These brown Bar-ba-loots sure love marshmallowwwwwwws <3

All photos' source: Google unless stated otherwise.

Found this on Tumblr; I want to have Lorax nail art too!

Verdict: I'm a big fan of animation and cartoon, how can I ever say no to The Lorax?  Plus, it's directed by the director of Despicable Me! It was decent and entertaining to my inner child's liking (yes, I'm a kid at heart!) but I feel that something was lacking. The story line was somehow predictable, even though I've never read the book and I think it could have been better. Frankly speaking, it was not as par as Despicable Me. Overall, it was a short but meaningful story filled with adorable characters, vibrant animation and catchy soundtracks. No doubt, kids will definitely enjoy this movie! Zac Efron and Taylor Swift should have come up with a duet and sing it in the movie, no?

Quote of the movie: UNLESS someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not.
Favourite soundtrack from the movie: Let It Grow Gospel Ending – Jenny Slate
My name’s Marie and I am THREE! I would really like to see a tree…Lalalala La Lalalee, I say let it grow! ♪( ´▽`)

Official trailer; Watch it, who knows you'll change your mind? (;

Rating: 3/5
3D or no 3D: I would say go for it! :P
What's even awesome? I get to meet the orange furball in person :3
Enough of getting Lorax-ified by me! Catch it in the cinema and decide it for yourself :D

Real Steel (2011)

Big thanks to Churp Churp and TuneTalk, I get to watch Real Steel five days earlier than the actual screening date in Malaysia! Thanks for the free popcorn and drinks too (;

Synopsis
A gritty, white-knuckle, action ride set in the near-future where the sport of boxing has gone high-tech, “Real Steel” stars Hugh Jackman as Charlie Kenton, a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots took over the ring. Now nothing but a small-time promoter, Charlie earns just enough money piecing together low-end bots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing venue to the next. When Charlie hits rock bottom, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son Max (Dakota Goyo) to build and train a championship contender. As the stakes in the brutal, no-holds-barred arena are raised, Charlie and Max, against all odds, get one last shot at a comeback — (C) Dreamworks

The film is based on "Steel" - a 1956 short story by I Am Legend author Richard Matheson. It was also made into an episode of Steel. (Source: IMDb)

Hugh Jackman with his yummy six packs(!) as Charlie Kenton and his first robot, Ambush. Remember the three girls who ask to pose for a picture with Ambush? They are director 'Shawn Levy''s daughters. (Source: IMDb)

Then, we have Noisy Boy here and this is the first time Charlie and Max went for a match together.

Dakota Goyo as the 11 years old Max Kenton, son to Charlie and his ex girlfriend. He's so adorable and I can't stop staring at his blue eyes.

Max with the newly found sparring robot, Atom that saves his life.

Evangeline Lilly (The girl from LOST!) as Bailey in the movie.

The Almighty Zeus!

Atom who is trying to bring down Zeus and who do you think will win this match? Watch to find out!

Verdict
If you think this movie is just another normal robot fighting sort of action movie, then you're wrong. There's more than that in this movie, another element that was portrayed was a father-and-son relationship. The combination of these two elements makes Real Steel enjoyable to watch. The plot and story line is predictable but not the compelling ending but I think the ending is better that way. In Real Steel, it's the year 2020, I was fascinated with the hi-tech gadgets and technologies but the rest, everything still remain the same. Frankly speaking, I did not watch the trailer before this because I do not want to have any expectations or else I know I will be disappointed. It turns out to be a really good movie (at least to me, boyf, Joeann and her sis) or should I say an awesome movie! The movie got me cheering and clapping and even crying in the cinema, I was all hyped up especially with few of the soundtracks by Eminem. I seriously think that Dakota is really talented; like a star being born. He doesn't need to try hard yet he manage to steal my heart from the beginning till the end of the movie. The chemistry between him and Hugh Jackman on and off screen was fun to watch. I shall stop right here and leave the rest for you to watch in the cinema starting 13th Oct, so don't miss it!

Steel bashing steel, metal bashing metal, this is the movie you have to watch this fall just cause I highly recommend it! :D

Hop bunny hop

Weeeee I managed to watch HOP with the regular bloggers yesterday night, all thanks to Tony for offering the pair of tickets that he won last minute and the ride too (:

With Tony & my usual date; Joeanney! :D

The Mahsa's Girls :P with Jessy on my right.
With ze girls; Melissa, Carmen, Jessy, Me, Joeann, Xing & Sherry <3<3
Group photo ☺☺
Now back to the movie!

From the director of Alvin and The Chipmunks and the producers of Despicable Me, comes a comedy of Candy, Chicks, and Rock 'N' Roll. I hereby present you HOP! :D

Featuring E.B. (with Russell Brand as the voice behind) who was the son of Mr and Mrs Bunny and the main character  who would rather be a drummer than be the next Easter Bunny and FYI, he can poop jellybeans!

& James Marsden as Fred O'Hare - The deuteragonist that becomes the first human easter bunny LOL

& Mr. Bunny (Hugh Laurie as the voice behind) who was E.B.'s father and the current Easter Bunny who wants E.B to follow in his footsteps and he was forced to save easter.

& Carlos (Hank Azaria as the voice behind) who played the main antagonist. He was the leader and biggest of the Easter Chicks who speaks with a Spanish accent (HAHA IKR) who has grown tired of always being Mr. Bunny's Number 2 and tried to take over E.B's place with an evil plan.

Last but not least, Phil (MY FAVE CHARACTER!!) who was Carlos' sidekick and he will automatically dance when there's a beat. He's sooooo cute cause he's chubby and silly in a way! Fatty fatty boom boom

Synopsis: Hop tells the comic tale of Fred (James Marsden), an out-of-work slacker who accidentally injures the Easter Bunny (voiced by Russell Brand) and must take him in as he recovers. As Fred struggles with the world's worst houseguest, both will learn what it takes to finally grow up. (Source: United International Pictures)

Verdict (Spoiler Alert): The animation is great, with vibrant colours and bright backgrounds (especially at the beginning of the movie) with brezzy soundtracks and the bunnies & chicks look absolutely adorable! It's more to a  funny, exciting family kind of film. I personally think that Hop is one of the better ones, much better than Garfield. The ending was pretty much predictedable as well.

My favourite scene will be the part where E.B pretended to be a wind up toy and asked for a kiss from Fred's sister. Oh so adorableeeeeee!

All in all, it would be a cute and funny seasonal entertainment for the family. Rating it 8/10.

Official trailer;

Phil in action!! <3

Now off I go, HOP back to my piles of book, Finals coming up next Friday T__T Btw, I want a basket full of pretty colourful easter eggs too!

Goodbye February, Hello March!

Well, I spent my first day of March attending class in the morning and screening of I am Number Four at night with a bunch of bloggers (: Thanks to Jayren for the tickets!

Belinda sent Joeann and I to Kelana Jaya after her class and we waited for almost half an hour for the Ikano free shuttle bus to arrive. Safely reached Ikano at 5.45pm and we made our way to Ikea for meatball :D

#1. We always sit at usual same spot by the window

#2. Our dinner

#3. My vegetarian pasta - RM5.00

#4. Joeann's chicken whole leg with lemon sauce - RM10.00

#5. Baked cheese cake - RM4.50

#6. 10 pcs meatballs - RM8.00 (only on Tuesday)

#7. The size of the meatballs are getting smaller nowadays ):

#8. Have you met... Joeann, the meatball lover? LOL

#9. Her so called masterpiece :P which looks kinda gross heh

After the dinner, we headed to E-curve to meet up with ze bloggers to claim movie tickets. I met a couple of bloggers for the first time too, which includes Eli, Isaac, Elywn, Shiiteck and Cayenne (:

#10. Back row: Elywn and Tikkoss
Middle row: Joeann, Eli's friend, Eli, Eli's cousin, Chuen, Isaac and KianFai
        Front row: Jayren

About the movie;

Sypnosis
Extraordinary teen John Smith (Pettyfer) is a fugitive on the run from ruthless enemies sent to destroy him. Changing his identity, moving from town to town with his guardian Henri (Olyphant), John is always the new kid with no ties to his past. In the small Ohio town he now calls home, John encounters unexpected, life-changing events-his first love (Agron), powerful new abilities and a connection to the others who share his incredible destiny. — Walt Disney Pictures

My verdict (Spoiler alert)
Another sci-fi action movie that is watchable. It started off with No.3 being killed then the story was a bit slow in the middle and the good stuff only begins at the last 20 minutes of the movie when No.6 came into the rescue  to defeat the Mogadorian commander and his people with No.4. Yet I must admit that the visuals are astounding and the ending surely made me yearn for the next sequel since No.5 is no where to be seen yet. I hope the next one would be better! There are a few scenes with cheesy romance and a wee bit of humour and thriller throughout the movie. I did enjoy the movie, so I rate this movie 7 out of 10.

Starring Adam Pettyfer; the new hot chickhunk in my list of sexiest guys alive! He's acting in Beastly as well.

and OMG, I didn't know Dianna Agron from Glee was in this movie too!

This, is the definition of smoking hot! She's the No.6 Six in the movie who is fireproof, how awesome is that!

So that's pretty much it, my first day of March (: How bout yours?

xx
