Choosing the right contact lens can be quite a nuisance, especially when it comes to first timers. There are a few factors to consider such as cost, ease of use, comfort, clarity and length of wear. For me personally, comfort and ease of use will be the top priority as I have dry and sensitive eyes. Therefore, daily contact lenses would be the perfect choice – there’s no need to clean or store them (super convenient for lazy bums like me of course, heh) cause you can just dispose them at the end of the day, reducing the risk of getting eye infection as well. Though I must say they are usually the more expensive option.

Verdict

I've tried almost all kinds of contact lens from monthly disposable lens to daily disposable lens, there is nothing quite like Biotrue® ONEday. I have really sensitive and dry eyes, thus not all contact lens fit the criteria. First and foremost, the material is really thin and soft, thus putting them on is easy-peasy.  My experience wearing these contact lens has been nothing short of amazing, it lasted me throughout the whole day from running errands to gym and even dinner without a slight irritation or dryness at all. It's definitely my go-to lens now for everday use and trust me, your eyes will love the new Biotrue® ONEday!

Must Have Lancôme Products in 2017

Ever since cushion compact foundation was introduced to the beauty industry, it has been a staple in my makeup routine no matter how lazy or glam I'm feeling. No surprise that brands  – both affordable and luxurious have hopped onto the cushion bandwagon with a wide variety of these to achieve porcelain, blemish free face effortlessly. So far, I've only tried Korean cushion compacts, so this time round I'm really excited to give Lancôme's highly raved cushion compact a shot.

Claims to be long lasting, this oil-free lightweight liquid foundation also promises an ultra high coverage, plus refreshing hydration (that's a first, I must say), SPF 50 Sunscreen, as well as a natural matte finish. It is utilizing a technology called Polar Cushion Technology™ - which is tailor made for longwear and coverage.

I've got to say I am utterly won over by this cushion compact, from its chic packaging to its velvet puff applicator which is one of a kind. It was developed specifically for high coverage textures. Instead of tapping the puff onto your face to blend it out, you can just swipe it onto your skin to blend the formula out seamlessly thus creating a flawless-looking finish. 

And of course, the formula itself too! It does give me the cooling sensation when I first applied it onto my skin and the best part, even the first dip itself was enough to cover my entire face.

Based on these two tests that I've done, this cushion compact has indeed live up to its claim. Despite having such incredible high coverage, I love the fact that it doesn't feel greasy at all on the skin. In fact, it was very light and comfortable. It can even last me the whole day without any touch up.

The natural looking glow aftermath without any concealer or even loose powder, I kid you not. The cushion comes in nine shades and mine was in 025, Beige Naturel. Though it can be slightly on the steep price, but I can assure you that it's certainly worth every dime you spent

And on my lips, I was wearing the The Lancôme Juicy Shaker that I've been looking forward to try out ever since it made its debut. Trust me when I say it took me a good 30 minutes to decide which color I wanted for myself since it comes with 20 different shades and flavours that look equally fabulous and tempting! So what is so special about this Juicy Shaker? It has this biphase formula which does not only nourish your lips but also leave your pout infused with a sheer wash of colour. Packed with 5 nourishing oils such as cranberry seed oil and sweet almond oil, it can treat your lips like a lip balm.

You gotta admit that the packaging looks super adorbs and cute, resembling a mini Martini shaker. Plus, you'll hear the familiar sound of a martini shaker as you shake and mix your cosmetic cocktail.

When you open up the cap of the Juicy Shakers, you'll notice the unique looking sponge tip applicator. Fluffy as it looks, it feels really soft on the lips. You can either dab or swipe it onto the lips to apply it. The tip will hold just the right amount for you to use, so as to prevent a mess. It also seems to absorb more oil than the pigments sometimes, so maybe shaking a little more beforehand would help balance that out.

I was never a big fan of lip products, cause they either dry up my lips or end up being sticky. But this Juicy Shaker is definitely something you should try especially for people who have dry lips like me. They are healthy for the lips with its caring and hydrating formula, they give your lips a youthful glow. You don't have to worry if it could last you throughout the day because applying it is so quick and easy. Markets 21 At The School Jaya One

Hi again!

As mentioned in my previous post, Markets 21 was happening at The School Jaya One last weekend. The one thing I love about all these lifestyle bazaars is the unexpected cheap finds. Since I've pretty much done my CNY shopping, I was just basically looking around for any stalls that caught my attention. Continue reading to find out more!

The first one has got to be BentukBentuk by Adesh and Shahfiq that sells really pretty homemade concrete deco that comes in all kinds of shapes and sizes; thus the name of their brand. Look at those details, yourself. Some even have marble prints on it, how to resist you tell me! They do take customised order, depending on your design.

Next would be Naturafun, a home maker of soap bars, essential oil and more. I've heard of cold pressed juices, but cold pressed essential oil? It's definitely my first. Besides reasonably priced natural beauty solution, they do provide some interesting workshops in soap making and  aromatherapy too. 

Jeanie Botanical, another brand that emphasizes on the use of 100% natural and organic raw materials  in their skin and body care products. One of their products that attracted me the most is the beautifully layered aromatic bath salt, would love to give it a try some day!  

There are even stalls that sell stuff for your favourite canine. Besides some yummylicious treats, they do sell cute outfits for them too!

Adding another stall to the list would be Fleur Lab that sells personalized hand tied and bridal bouquets. They claimed all of the bouquets are made with real flowers that can last up to 5 years. And guess what, Valentine's Day is coming soon *hint hint

Last but not least, would be thes mouth watering brownies from Manis! They had a happy hour promo where their 3 best seller brownies are sold three pieces for RM10, which is definitely a steal. Needless to say, their brownies are as sweet as the founder herself, Adreena who is based in Ampang.

Since I was there after my brunch, I didn't get to explore the food area much but I saw a number of food trucks available selling all sorts of delicious snacks and food. Maybe next time?

After getting to know all these people behind their very own brands at Markets 21, or should I call them entrepreneurs, I have learnt one thing from them; they are really passionate in what they are doing. Start from being nothing, to running and growing their own business. They have done it, how bout you? #haveyoudoneit

Worthy Book F&B Edition 2014/2015

Hey there loyal readers, if I still have any lol Hope you guys had a wonderful Christmas and I can't believe 2015 is just a few days away.

Just a few weeks back, I had the chance to visit Morganfield's at Pavilion with Kev and his family over the weekend and I'm kind of ashamed to admit that it was my first time despite the fact the highly raved pork ribs have been around for years. Of course, I decided to use the vouchers that are available #cheapskateauntymodeon HEH

And I present you The Carnivore featuring a full slab of garlicky BBQ Spare Ribs, 1/2 Herbs Roasted Chicken, grilled Thuringer sausage, grilled Hungarian sausage, garden salad, grilled corn on the cob, corn bread and crispy French Fries. It's quite a huge sharing platter strictly for 3-4 gluttons who loves meat, don't say I didn't warn you (っ˘ڡ˘ς)

All in all, the sausages were really delicious. I wished they would have served bigger portion of the sausages. And their ribs, OMGEEE jizztastic is the word. They sure aren't disappointing AT ALL. The meat was well marinated and really tender, though I think it could have been more garlicky.
With great food and of course with such good company and decent service, it sure was a pleasant dining experience at Morganfield's (: They now have another two branch at Publika and The Curve.  

I will definitely come back for more sticky bones!

I left the restaurant happy with a satisfied tummy and even discount on my bill :D

Fashion Post: Yellow Asymmetrical Skort

It's been  almost two months since I've embarked into the working world and I've got to admit that I seriously miss my carefree uni life already T__T Work has been pretty hectic and I'm still struggling to keep my head above water. With work and whatnot taking up most of my time, I haven't really found the time to dress up and try new clothes out for a while now. Sundays are probably the only days where I can utilize to gussy up and all though some days I will choose sleeping in over anything since it's the only day I can sleep in.

Some of you may recall that I've blogged about Curated Clothing before and I am thrilled to receive one of their fabulous pieces; the Yellow Asymmetrical Skort. We gotta admit that skorts definitely had a moment in the fashion scene this year after the great Zara Skort Armageddon of 2013 and has now growing into a phenomenon of varying cuts, textures, and lengths.

I've always had a very safe selection of colors in my wardrobe, not very versatile and I would seldom venture out to try a color that I'm not confident in pulling off. I can actually count the number of bold coloured garments I have with my ten fingers. I am quite into soft pastel yellow this year but not bright neon-like yellow. I guess there's no harm trying right? When it comes to coordinating my outfits, I love keeping things simple. Minimalist is the word. Drawing from my long admiration and obsession with florals (guess it's pretty obvious HEH), I put together this Kimono Cardigan with the skort, and lo and behold, the entire coordinate seems to fit quite nicely and is totally perfect for a casual-yet-chic day out. Personally I think it's fine to sometimes wander out of our comfort zones and experiment with different bright and bold colors instead of just sticking with the ones in our wardrobes. 

Excuse my flip flops :P

Book A Taxi with Taxi Monger today!

If you know me well, you probably know that I go around with public transport most of the times but taxi would be a better option sometimes since it's more convenience and time-saving which I wouldn't mind paying a little extra for that. However, it can quite nerve-wrecking if you can't hail a taxi on the spot especially when you're running late but thank goodness for this life saver taxi booking mobile app called Taxi Monger! I can now book my taxi beforehand :D Forget the traditional way of calling taxi hotlines to get a taxi. Besides, what sets Taxi Monger apart from the other taxi apps is that they provide the passengers more value for their moolah spent on taxi rides with their loyalty programme! Well, you have to read till the end to find out more.  

Alright, let's get started! First, you'll have to download the app from your respective app store and sign up for an account.

You can opt to log in via Taxi Monger itself or via FB which makes everything easier since all your details will be synced automatically. 

Once you've activated your account, this will appear on the homepage of the app that shows your current location. Even without the GPS switched on, the location is pretty accurate.

To book a taxi, you can choose to be picked up from your current location or click search if it's from a different location. Then, key in all the necessary booking details to complete the booking. 

You can also select your own pickup time (you can even book few days ahead) and the type of taxis that you want (luxury or budget). Then, the fare estimation will be shown along with the duration of the journey.   

Once your booking is made, notifications will be sent via email and SMS to confirm your booking. You can also check your booking at your app's dashboard. The details of the taxi driver that includes the contact number and car plate number will be made available too.

Verdict

I personally tried Taxi Monger myself and I find it pretty good. The driver was punctual (slightly earlier in fact) and gave me a call when he arrived. The trip took less than half an hour and costs me around RM35 from Klang to PJ, thanks to clear traffic. 

To be frank, there are quite a few limitations since it's still a pretty new app. I felt there is definitely room for improvement to provide a better and satisfactory service to their users. They are currently serving in Klang Valley area so it was a tad difficult to get taxis that are not in the area. 

Well, that's just not it! With Taxi Monger, you'll get to enjoy some other benefits as well! 

1. TaxiMiles is the first loyalty programme ever to be created by a taxi-booking app in Malaysia that is specially designed for their loyal customers.
