Benefit Cosmetics Malaysia 1st Birthday Bash

Back to the weekend after my birthday, I was invited to celebrate Benefit Cosmetics' first standalone boutique first anniversary. Well, all good things happened in the month of September (; It was a pretty exclusive event cause it's only for selected bloggers who are born in the month of September but the best part is you'll get to bring along 5 guests! Of course, being a big fan of Benefit Cosmetics, I agreed without hesitation and brought along my elder sister and Joeann with me.

In case you don't know, Benefit Cosmetics boutique is in 1 Utama Shopping Center.
Located on the same row with Topshop, it's impossible to miss this shop with the truckloads of pinkness. 

Love how most of the decors and furniture are in pink too (✿ ♥‿♥) 

Yummy mini beef pies and pink guava juice were served.    

What's a birthday without a cake right? And this my friend, is the beautiful birthday cake! Perfectly done with the tiniest details, so cute that even it's edible, I don't think I want to eat it. 

Once registration is done, the event started off with the traditional candle blowing ceremony for the September babies.

Felt like celebrities surrounded by paparazzi with the camera's flash flashing at us and having our photos taken when we blew the candles teehee (*ﾉωﾉ)

We had this astonishing magician to entertain us with his jaw-dropping magics. It was really impressive!

After the exciting magic show, we had an opportunity check out their new product, Gimme Brow which is also one of the main highlights of the birthday bash.

Introducing Gimme Brow, brow-volumizing fiber gel that comes with two different shades (light/medium & medium/deep). Now available at all Benefit counters and official retailers in Malaysia selling at RM85 each!

After the demonstration, it was time for the beauty bloggers to experience The Great Browzini themselves.
While waiting for my turn, I took the opportunity to walk around the store and check out the cosmetics they have.

All hyped up for my brow makeover.
To be honest, I've always neglected my eyebrows when it comes to eye make up cause I have zero idea how to do it or even worse, where to start. The most I'll use usually would be just eyeliner and mascara. My Benefit Assistant was very helpful indeed, answering my questions and teaching me how to draw my brows. She even shared some brow tips with me (:

Having well defined and perfectly shaped brows that suit your face does make a huge impact to your appearance. This look was achieved by using the Instant Brow Pencil and High Brow.
My verdict: Loving it ♥♥♥

My brow makeover doesn't just end here. There's more...

Each of us were given this coupon to claim a free brow wax worth RM42 and my BA offered to do it for me right away so I thought, why not? #challengeaccepted I usually have my brows trimmed and tweezed 
so it was my first time to experience brow wax. 

Feeling a tad nervous, the first question I blurted out was " Is it painful? " She said it is less painful than tweezing ಠ_ಠ ಠ_ಠ ಠ_ಠ ಠ_ಠ No, that's not true. HAHA Well probably it's not applicable to me in the first place cause I have low tolerance towards to pain. 

Looks like some minor surgery is going on with all the waxing tools.
Before waxing your brow, the BA will ask you a few simple questions and test the wax on your hand.

Besides brow waxing, Benefit Cosmetics provide body and also facial waxing services. 

Knowing that Benefit Cosmetics has always been the brow expert since 1976, I know I'm in good hands.
I'll just have to sit back, relax and let the experts do what they do best.

The whole process didn't take long, less than 15 minutes.
Fret not if there's redness around the eyebrow areas after waxing, it's totally normal (:My verdict: Worth the pain ♥♥♥♥

GAB Oktoberfest Malaysia 2013

Wakey wakey, people cause September has come to an end! *cues Wakes Me Up when September Ends in the background* We have Arthur's Day last week, so you know what comes next? Yes, it's Ocktoberfest baby cause we're now in the month of October *throws mugs of beer up in the air*

Now first, lemme share with you how Oktoberfest actually comes about. This celebration initially started as wedding celebration in 1810 to commemorate the union between Crown Prince Ludwig (who later became King Ludwig I) and Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen at Theresienwiese (translated as Therese's meadow / field) – it is for this reason that Oktoberfest is referred to by Germans as ‘die Wiesn’ or ‘the field’ Through the years, Oktoberfest celebrations have had various elements and activities, including horse races, street parades (in traditional costumes), live music, dancing and of course the appreciation of authentic Munich-brewed beer. 

Currently, Oktoberfest is celebrated globally with almost 7 million visitors consuming over 7 million litres of beer and more than half a million chickens throughout the celebration (based on 2011 figures), which lasts between 16 – 18 days from the middle of September to the first Sunday of October. 4.

For this year's Oktoberfest, this festival will run from 21 September 2013 to October 6 2013 which is a total of 16 days of culture, cuisine and beers!

Like every other year, Guinness Anchor Berhad (GAB), the leading beer and stout company in Malaysia will be celebrating the iconic German Oktoberfest this month! Beauty13 Expo is back in town!

Calling all beauty junkies!



The annual Southeast Asia's Largest Expo and Trade for Beauty and Therapeutic Professionals that you've been anticipating is here again with more up-to-date beauty trends as well as high quality beauty, skincare and healthcare-related products from famous must have brands, be it local or international. There will also be competitions, stage shows and seminars covering the entire spectrum of the beauty, hair and nail industries.

Beauty13 Expo is held from Hall 2 to Hall 6 which are categorized into 4 main categories of exhibit zones: Beauty Salon Spa and Wellness, Hair Products and Equipment, Makeup and Education, as well as Nails Products and Tools. So you can actually imagine how huge the exhibition is that comprises of 5 halls filled with wide variety of exhibitors!

The daily main shows and seminars as well as the upcoming  APHCA competition will be held at Hall 6, where the main stage is.  

I managed to catch SHILLS at the main stage launching their new product; Miracle Lift Firming Cleanser and promoting their campaign, Shills Pink Love in conjunction with Pink Ribbon to create the awareness for breast cancer. 

As a big fan of nail polish and nail art, I almost went gaga walking around the Nail Products and Tools Zone cause they are just too many pretty stuff that are sold at super low price. Good thing that I managed to walk out of there without purchasing anything :P but I might when I go again next Monday HEH

You can even try their products and services on the spot, available at almost all booths. 

And this is one of the booths that caught my attention at first glance! Super pretty designer nail wraps from Singapore :D and the owner is such a friendly person.

It's definitely a good time to stock up your beauty and skincare products especially face masks and I can assure you there are discounts and promotions everywhere! Feel free to bring along your friends too cause you'll definitely get a lower or wholesale price if you buy the products bulks. Seeing people dragging their huge trolley bags is a common sight here. However, do expect a massive crowds during the weekends.
