Let's give Mother Earth a break

So what's on the headline today?

EARTH Hour is back once again today, the global event that unites people across the continents through one simple action - switching off non-essential lights for an hour. People are talking about it and it is all over the internet, the newspapers, on electronic medias and it's even a trending topic on Twitter! Shame on you if you have no idea what EARTH HOUR is.

At 8.30pm tonight, Malaysians from all walks of life will switch off their lights for Earth Hour. They will join more than one billion people from around the globe in this green effort. It's the least we can do as an earthlings. Over 126 countries and territories have pledged their commitment this year. This event hopes to remind the public of immediate need to fight climate change that has threatened to harm nature.

"Live Earth Hour every hour. People are getting more receptive about Earth Hour but it goes beyond switching off the lights. It's is not too late to start changing your lifestyle - to conserve energy, minimize wastage and encourage sustainability" — Datuk Dionysius Sharma, WWF Malaysia chief executive chief Officer.

I missed Earth Hour 09 cause I was in National Service that time so this year would be the first year I'm participating. If each and every one of us contribute this little effort, I bet it will make a big difference. We are all in this together right? It is the earth that we're talking about. So what are you waiting for? Be a part of this event and make a stand against climate change! Show your support and make the earth a better place to stay. Cause I did, so why not you?

In case you don't know what to do in the dark, let me tell you what to do. Have some friends over and have gossips session maybe? or you could always take a walk round the neighborhood and enjoy the total darkness, or have a candlelight romantic dinner with your loved ones and family. You can still choose to stay at home and go online or watch television in the dark? Still, you're playing a role plus you can save your electricity bill? Smart right? I know tsk tsk

P/S: I'm going to update about my very own Earth hour maybe tonight or tomorrow for the sake of this. It's the least I can do ♥ and I'll definitely switch off those non-essential lights as a pledge to Mother Earth. Btw, I sort of like the Earth Hour T-shirt though. How nice if I can own one teehee
