Whitesoot Bloggers Circle

I'm sure everyone should have heard of Whitesoot before! (:  Just a quick intro, Whitesoot is an online female apparel fashion store based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia that brings in high-street clothing at a fraction of the price. Look what I've received in the mail last Wednesday! *jumps around in joy*
How sweet (': Thank youuuuuu, Whitesoot *flying kisses*
This piece here my friend that I've chosen is the Flare Sweetheart Neckline Colour Block Dress. Apparently it's sold out :P It was a love at first sight! The material of the dress is cotton yet it's thick and body hugging, flaunting the curves of my body *cough* and how can I not love the flare skirt! My favourite detail of the dress would definitely be the sweetheart neckline and of course the colour block detailing. I've not officially wore this dress out yet but I think it would be ideal for any occasion cause it's chic and classy at the same time. Maybe it's time to hunt for a pair of heels instead, mind my hideous wedges T_T

Unlike most online blogshops that update weekly or even monthly *rolls eyes*, Whitesoot updates their site with new arrivals EVERYDAY from Sunday till Thursday at 8PM! Yes, you hear me right :D Now how can you resist not checking them out for gorgeous looking apparels while you're free doing nothing online right? Besides, they mail their shoppers' parcels the very next working day :) and in my case, I received my parcel in less than 24 hours, how effective (Y) Also, they will be glad to answer any questions regarding shopping with Whitesoot or respond to email within 24 hours, so anyone can email them anytime! And I must tell you this, they have real good customer service! They actually emailed me just to double check if I've compared the dress measurement with my size so that the dress suits me, seriously I'm impressed cause I've never encountered blogshops that is so particular in making sure their shoppers get the right dress. To look fantabulous with good quality apparels that is worth every penny not forgetting satisfaction guaranteed, it got to be Whitesoot (;

So attention female blogger *waves* I've got great new to share which is the Whitesoot Bloggers Circle, Whitesoot’s recent initiative that allows bloggers to receive complimentary clothing from Whitesoot every month ;) Yes, I kid you not. Plus, you don't have to be a famous blogger, all you need is consistent updates and a certain amount of readership. So what are you waiting for, start writing in to them at shopwhitesoot@gmail.com.

Again, just a gentle reminder – don't forget to check out Whitesoot at  http://whitesoot.blogspot.com/, every Sunday to Thursday at 8pm for their new arrivals :D and don't hesitate to place an order if you're interested in any of the apparels cause some may sold out real fast like hotcakes! Keep updated with sneak peak on their Facebook and Twitter as well.

P/S: Oh wait, did I mention they provide free delivery till 24th June? More details on their FB page, don't miss out.

Happy shopping at Whitesoot, darlings!\( ̄︶ ̄)/

Bon Ga Korean BBQ Restaurant

I guess you guys know that I am back in KL on Tuesday as stated in my previous post (: and as promised, the three of us make it up to the belated birthday girl, Elin and so we had a proper birthday dinner celebration at Bon Ga Korean BBQ Restaurant on the night I'm back itself. The initial plan was to try out Korean BBQ at Ampang Korean Village but Belinda recommended Bon Ga since it's nearer. So I did a little homework and found quite a number of positive reviews compared to the negative ones (:  Joeann called in to make a reservation a day before and we saw this once we get out from the lift.
To the right, we go! :D It looks like Joeam, instead of Joeann LOL
Are you ready for another gastronomic adventure? Just a head up, non-halal post ahead.
As usual, we were served with an array of bachan but this time round, there were less than 11 dishes *disappointed* but of course they are refillable with no extra charge and you can even ask for other types of bachan besides those being served already. In Belinda's case, she asked for the some radish kimchi thingy and they gave it to us free of charge as well.

Doenjang Jiggae (Fermented soy bean paste with vege stew) as one of the bachan as well, it's my first time trying it and I kinda like it (: It has tofu, clams and slices of cucumber in it.

Fresh red leaf lettuces to eat along with the bbq meat instead of the normal green lettuce YUMSSS but is it just me or it does taste a tad bitter?
Daeji Galbi (Marinated pork ribs) @ RM28
It was so good that we ordered another plate of this!

Samgyeopsal (Pork belly) @ RM28

Condiments; Pickled onion soup and fermented soy bean paste. The pickled onion soup has a tinge of sourness and it goes well with the bbq meat wrapped with lettuce. And I have to tell you this, they have the BEST fermented soy bean paste ever! It tasted really different from the other korean bbq restaurants I've been too, it's flavourful and spicy that I had to have it all over my bbq meat and lettuce SLURPSS SATISFACTION TO THE MAX!

Dolsot Bimbimpap @ RM20 served with a runny egg yolk and of course Gochujang (red chili paste). The  waiter was nice enough to mix it for us and it was really good, better than the one I had in Daorae
And of course, how can I miss Kimchi Jiggae @ RM20! It was spicy, appetizing and kimchilicious. There was a generous amount of tofu, thick chunky pork belly, onion and kimchi. How I wish I can have the whole bowl to myself *rubs belly*

Can you hear it sizzle on the hot grill? But one thing for sure, it smells sooooo good. The waiter will do all the grilling and cutting for you, so you just have to sit back and eat #likeaboss( ̄ー ̄)The meat were grilled to perfection, the sides were crispy and the meat were so tender and juicy mmmmmmm-so-yummeh! (*≧▽≦)

Oh boy, can't wait to dig in already! Chop chop! Love it when the table is full of food, glorious food :9

The aftermath; happy faces with happy tummy after happily filled with food (^▽^)

Brought three different flavours of Spritzer Tingefor them to try and I'm glad they liked it (: Probably cause the waiter saw us bringing our own drinks, they didn't serve us or ask if we needed any drinks but in the end, I ordered ice water and in return the waiter gave us in a huge bottle, it's free and refillable as well (Y)

We were seated beside this big window, that explains all the nice photos I took with natural sunlight :P This place is cosy and comfortable, too bad they have limited floor seating or else it would be better. I realized most of their patrons are koreans which means their food is considered authentic and up to the par. Fyi, this place is owned and run by a Korean couple and they are really friendly, always making sure that their customers are well-served. Even their foreigner waiters speak fluent Korean, wish I could pick up Korean language as well.
Birthday gift for the birthday girl <3 We know she loves it!
We can haz po-po-polaroid ~
The total damage was totally unbelievable cheap and reasonable (: and for such great food with cheap price and satisfactory service, we lovelies have decided to make this place our regular for Korean BBQ! We will definitely come back again.

Try Bon Ga, they will not disappoint you (;

This and that

... is life. Just feel like sharing a bunch of random photos I took with my BabyDroid and my camera whenever I'm out for the sake of updating my blog :P
Breakfasts that I woke up early for;
Left - Kolo Lou Shu Fun 老鼠粉 in Char Siew Sauce (Kuching style FTW!) I just knew that Lou Shu Fun is known as silver needle noodles in English, what a weird name indeed.
Right - Mee Jawa, too spicy for my liking but I would say that they are generous with the ingredients.

A super old ferry by the riverfront, look at the colour of the water *puke*

Vintage petrol pump! :D #onlyinbintulu
and....OMG 20 cents milk icecream #childhoodmemories If you never have these during your childhood, I've got nothing to say to you. But they are no longer 20 cents now, one for 50 cents yo!
Of course I couldn't resist and got myself one ヽ(‘ ∇‘ )ノ aaaaah and it still tastes the same! #likeakid
Ice kacang at RM2.50 per bowl, if only the ice is finer and smoother.

Tea break with the family @ Yen Hong Rojak Center! They used to taste better, utterly disappointed ):

Weather has been crazy for the past few weeks, it rains cats and dogs almost every evening.

Thank God it's bright and sunny on one fine day, so I decided to shower my furry kids and sunbathe them after that (:

Oh, I've finally found sunflower seeds after the supermarket restocked it! ;D Been wanting to plant sunflowers earlier and my parents actually thought I was insane HAHA
Last Saturday, took tons of photos of the very blue sky but this is my faveヽ(*⌒∇⌒*)ノ Little thing that made my day!
Photo of a disappearing sunset while I was jogging along the beach last Saturday evening, love the view (:

Take #2: Isn't it lovely? (:
Our usual family Saturday night out dinner @ Pineapple Restaurant
Sinfully glorious braised pork leg with bun YUMSSS
Midin with red wine and garlic #onlyinsarawak

This dish is the one that is responsible for the sore throat that I got after that D': Fried durian, the parents claimed that it was as good as that the ones they tasted before. It was too oily and the durian inside wasn't cold as well booooo

A happy family portrait of Megan with my furry kids! :3 wait, some of them belongs to my elder sister HAHA
So that pretty much sum up my awesome week before I leave for KL tomorrow. I shall put my holly holidays on hold and face the reality for another 3 weeks before gaining the true freedom, hopefully I will kick ass! Wish me truckloads of luck ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ

So Happy Together

I can't see me loving nobody but you
For all my life
When you are with me
Baby the skies will be blue
For all my life ♪( ´▽`)

It's been a while since I featured the boyf in my blog, I guess he does miss seeing himself here as well :P Reminded me that how I used to blog about our monthsary every month. Anyways, so here goes..
P/S: Cheesy sappy post ahead!

Happy 27th monthsary, baby boy ❤ and that'd be 823 days and still counting! HEHE
You light up my world like nobody else :*
I looked like a total crap in this photo, but I decided to post it cause I love his smile here. Heeee see, I'm such a good girlfriend (; This was the last photo we took while sending me off at LCCT last month but I'll be seeing you soon in less than 3 days YAYYYERS!
Of course in the midst of us being so happy together, we do argue over petty issues sometimes just cause I'm too free and I feel like picking up a fight HAHA okay I'm kidding. Like Sarah Dessen said — "No relationship is perfect, ever. There are always some ways you have to bend, to compromise, to give something up in order to gain something greater. The love we have for each other is bigger than these small differences. And that’s the key. It’s like a big pie chart, and the love in a relationship has to be the biggest piece. Love can make up for a lot." I'm really blessed to have him cause he sees the best in me even when I'm at worst and he is always there for me during the good and bad times. It's not easy to find someone that can put up with your bullshit, someone who love the same food like you do and someone who can tell you everything, but I did (:

I know I rarely say it out this but I love you, basically. As clichéd as that is, as many trillion times as it’s been said in literally endless variations, I love you cause you're simply the best (:

Recipe: Butter Cake

So hello, I've caught a baking fever recently after recovering from a cabin fever. Anyways, thanks so much for the kind comments in my previous post, much appreciated  Back to the main topic! Kitchen is probably the place where I spent most of time besides my bedroom this holiday not because I keep finding for food to binge on but I cook and bake (: I've always been crazy about baking, though I'm still a rookie in the baking department but let's admit it that everyone loves a nice bit of cake or a nice cheeky muffin. Baking can be super easy nowadays, all thanks to premixed ingredients so now everyone can bake!

Last month, I baked a butter cake (cheat one cause I used premixed ingredients); the plain old simple but always good butter cake.
All you need for a butter cake will be this pack of premixed flour, 6 eggs and a block of butter.
If you don't have the premixed flour, all you'll need is self raising flour, castor sugar, salt and vanilla essence. I realized that most butter cake recipes actually use milk but not in my case.
First of all, you'll need to beat the butter til it's light and creamy so it's recommended to thaw or soften your butter before hand. Add in the eggs and flour, mix them well and continue beating it until it's all smooth and fluffy. After that, grease your baking tray before adding in the batter. Then, you're all set to shove it in the oven for an hour at 170°C.

After patiently waiting for an hour, this is the end result! ヽ(^。^)丿 Sorry bout the hole, had to check if it's perfectly cooked inside. Last but not least, you can always make your own icing to go with this butter cake or add flavouring like pandan or choc.
I know you want some :P
As you can see, there are still certain parts that is not well-cooked but overall I gave it a pass since it's my first time #selfdenial The cake turns out not as oily as I expected probably cause I used 250g of butter instead of 300g and the texture of the cake is soft and fluffy, the family loved it and they actually finished everything in two days. #successkid.jpg Dad even requested for another butter cake, so I'll bake it again this weekend before flying off to KL next week (:

What will you do if you love both cheesecake and chocolate cake? You combine both and come out with a Brownie Layer Cheesecake! (´∀`) The initial plan was to bake a chocolate cake (Dad requested this as well HAHA) but I decided to try something more challenging last weekend so yeah but cheat one as well cause I was using premixed ingredients as well! HEHE *evil grin*
Ingredients you'll need premixed flour, a block of butter and cream cheese and 6 eggs and oh 100ml of milk as well! Again if you don't have the premixed flour, you can always search for the brownies' recipe online. Since it's a layer cake, I did the batter for the brownies and cheesecake separately.
We'll start off with the brownie part first.
First, add in the butter into the premixed flour and mix them.

After that, you will need to add  in 5 eggs and beat them till the batter is soft and fluffly.
Megan is on this cracking eggs craze after she learnt how to crack one, she volunteered every single time since then.
Then, add in the milk and continue beating the batter again. You can reduce the amount of milk you want to add if you think your batter is slightly runny.

Mix all the ingredients well and beat it till you get a fluffy and soft texture like the photo on the right then you're done for the brownie batter(:
Now moving on to the cheese layer;
First, add an egg and 50g of sugar into your cream cheese and mix them well till it is smooth and fluffy. Pour half of it into a baking tray and spread them evenly. I decided to put the cheese at the bottom layer first cause I want the brownie as the first layer. Instead of using an oven to bake this time, I steam it! :D For this thin layer of cheese, it needs around 20 minutes to bake under low heat.

The brownies and cheese batter, divide both of them into another two portion for a total of four layers.

When the cheese layer is done, you can now pour in the brownies batter, this will take almost 40 minutes under low heat as well cause it's thicker. You can always check it with a skewer from time to time (:

That's how the brownies layer looked like when it's done, any ideas why are there holes everywhere? D: Continue with another layer of cream cheese then top it of with the remaining brownies batter. After hours of hard work and sweat over the fire, time to check out the final product! *points down*

TADAAAAAA! Not bad huh? Look like those sold in the bakery right, right? HAHA It's chocolatey and cheesy enough to my liking (: Where got people self bake and self praise one? Me lah *double facepalm* Since le parents do not favour cheese that much, they are satiated with it after a few bites T__T

That's all about my baking diary (: What's next? Muffin or cookies?

All premixed ingredients are from Emiwon Bakery Ingredients (英美皇烘焙原料店)
