DAORAE Korean BBQ Restaurant

Harro! This post is one hella outdated post, way back to the first day of 2012. Yeap, went for a food adventure with the lovelies as our New Year celebration.

I suggested Korean BBQ for dinner cause I was craving for it and we settled at Kota Damansara's Doarae cause it's nearer for us.  Despite the fact that it was quite crowded by the time we were there, the service was still fast. It's still advisable to go earlier before 8pm or else you'll have to wait for quite some time.
Up up here we go to the 3rd floor (:

Ze menu.

One set of dining utensils for each and everyone.

Random shot of the Christmas tree (:

Built in grills with long exhaust chute on every table.

Condiments to go along with the meat that will be wrapped with lettuce. Doenjang (Korean Fermented Soy Bean Paste) on the left and some sweet sauce on the right.

Refillable lettuce to wrap your BBQ meat.

Hanbang Samkyup-Sal (RM30); Thin slices of belly pork marinated with special Korean Ginseng and herb extract.

Wang Gal-bi (RM58); Choice beef short rib specially hand filleted marinated in their heavenly sweet soy sauce.

All the grilling and BBQ-ing will be done by the waiter so all you have to do is sit back and relax #likeaboss

It's almost doneeeeee, can you hear it sizzle :P

A variety of bachan (side dishes) that invariably comes as complimentary if you order their BBQ dishes, and it's normally allowed for refilling! (Y) I like the one with macaroni, can't have enough of it :9

Dolsot Bimbimbab (RM20); A rich layering of fresh and seasoned vegetables, served in steaming hot stone bowl  over a bed of steamed rice topped with a fried egg. It's usually served with Korean chili paste separately. The waiter was kind enough to mix it up for us after adding in the amount of chili paste we wanted. I find this bimbimbab a tad too dry and most of the rice sticked to the side of the bowl.
The meat was nicely cut by the waiter as well. Where to get such good service, you tell me?

Ordered Kimchi Jjigae too, a must order everytime I have korean food :D A spicy combination of belly pork,  kimchi and tofu in a rich kimchi soup is just perfecto! Sadly their kimchi jjigae isn't as good as the one from KimchiHaru and Haeun Khon Restaurant.
A popular way to eat Korean BBQ would be wrapping small slice of meat with lettuce and add on those condiments provided, just that easy (:

I read a lot of reviews claiming that their food was just so-so and their quality has dropped but it's fine to me, especially their friendly service (: This is my second time trying Korean BBQ, so I couldn't really tell if it's good or bad but I shall definitely try Korean BBQ in Ampang's Korean Village one day. The bill came up to RM130++ inclusive of the 10% service charge for 4pax, slightly pricey for me.

Fret not if you can't go all to Kota Damansara for Daorae's BBQ cause they have 9 other branches even in Penang, Ipoh and Malacca! There's even one opening soon in SS2 :D

So guess where we went after the dinner for round 2? Stay tuned to find out..
