Pantai Batu Buruk @ Kuala Terengganu

Pantai Batu Buruk which is also known as Ugly Stone Beach (on direct translation HAHA) or Batu Buruk Beach is one of the popular stretch of beach in Kuala Terengganu where locals go to during the weekends and in the evening. It is located just 1km away from the city of Kuala Terengganu and just behind the general hospital, Hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah. We've been wanting to have a look at the beach since day one but we only managed to visit this beach on our last day of clinical posting. Spamming this post with photos again! #failedblogger
I've never seen such a long stretch of beach before, prolly a few kilometers long. That is the other end on my left.

And this is on my right, I kid you not.

I'm quite surprised that the beach is pretty clean (: Perhaps the cleanest and widest beach in KT!

The waves here are always strong due to the fact that it faced the open South China Sea, thus swimming are not recommended as it can be quite dangerous.

A daring guy surfing in the middle of the sea, it's pretty entertaining seeing him fall, get back up again and surf.

Happy faces enjoying the evening breeze ( ^ ∀ ^ )

This stretch of scenic beach is sandy in nature with casuarina trees grow abundantly along the beach.

I still prefer the smooth fine sand at Puala Kapas.
There were tons of seashells on the beach, picked up a couple nice ones and brought back home (:

She sells seashells on the seashore ( ´ ▽ ` )

Saw the island at the background? Yeappp, that's Pulau Kapas! :D

Look, an eagle soaring high up in the sky! NAH It's a kite :P

During windy days, playing kite on the beach is a good idea. No worries if you don't have one, you will be spoiled with a variety of kites on sale which are mostly angry birds kites, IKR -__-

There is motorised activities as well, RM15 for a few minutes if I'm not mistaken.

There's a white horse and a carriage too, reminds me of Cinderella :P

Horse riding for a fee is also a common sight here, as you can see most of the rider are kids and youth.

I like this paparazzi shot. It feel like they are in one of those cowboys film minus the fact that they are neither in a cowboy suit nor wear a cowboy hat, no? LOLOL :P

Hi there, horsie (:

One last shot of the beach before we left for dinner.

Next post will be about the seafood dinner we had :D

Pantai Batu Buruk is an ideal place for taking a stroll along the wide stretch of the sandy beach and feeling the cool breeze of the South China Sea. You can easily spot the locals and the tourists filled every corner of the beach especially during evening time , spending quality time with their family and loved ones, picnicking or just hanging out with friends. Pantai Batu Buruk is definitely a place to chill out during the weekends since there is not much place to hang out in KT anyway. Plus there are also many food stalls nearby the area and even night market every Friday from 3pm and 7pm. You can try fried ice cream (Ais Krim Goreng), Nasi Dagang, Terengganu traditional rice, fried sea foods, steamed sweet potato and sweet corn and the weird thing is you can't find cendol here. There's A&W and KFC nearby as well and if you continue walking down the street, you will see a row of seafood restaurant as shown in the last photo of this post (: Besides that, the City council will also held a culture show of pencak silat (a type of Malay Martial Art), top spinning, kite flying, sepak raga and other traditional performances at The Batu Buruk Culture Centre every Fridays from 5pm to 7pm.

P/S: I know you're getting bored on my posts about on Terengannu but no worries it's coming to an end soon, do bear with me! ヽ( ^ 。^ )丿

xx
