How to treat dry and dehydrated skin?

Before we start, we should know the what exactly dry and dehydrated skin is.You’ve probably heard both terms used before (:  Knowing the difference between dry skin and dehydrated skin is strictly important and treating it for what it needs is important.

Dry Skin vs. Dehydrated Skin. What’s the Difference?

Dry skin, as a skin type is alipidic skin that is not producing oil (sebum) in the skin while dehydrated skin, as a skin condition, lacks water content, but may still produce oil. It may be biologically inspired (genetic) or environmental. Dehydrated skin is common among those with oily and acne-prone skin who use harsh products that strip the skin of water. The most common mistake people make is thinking that their skin is dry when it’s really dehydrated. Dry skin is actually very rare,” says celebrity esthetician Joanna Czech, who works on numerous A-list faces. My face would fall in the category of dehydrated skin, as it still produce oil especially at my T-zone area. Even a beautician once told me before that my face skin is lack of water content, hence the pigmentation (looked like freckles) that I had on both of my upper cheek bone T__T

How do I treat my dehydrated skin? It is as simple as 'feeding' it with water to keep it moist all the time. Even as a person, if you're dehydrated, the only way to cure it is to hydrate yourself.
Since I'm still a student, my ways of treating my skin (especially my face) would be more wallet-friendly and convenient.

#1. I use facial products that aims in moisturizing care.
I bet everyone would have known this brand of facial product; HADA LABO that contains Super Hyaluronic Acid that lastingly hydrates and nourishes the skin for smooth, radiant and crystal-clear skin. It creates a moisture locking shield to help preserve skin’s optimum moisture balance. I usually start off by using the facial cleaner and top it with the moisturizing lotion on a daily basis, twice a day. Once a week, I will pamper my face with the moisturizing mask.

Poor cleansing and neglect can be the two main factors of dehydrated skin, so it is important to clean and moisture your face daily. Plus, never leave the skin bare for more than 60 seconds after washing. Toner, serum or moisturizer have to be applied.

Besides, I used this aquaholic sleeping mask on a weekly basis as well (:

Not forgetting my hands and legs that needs moisturizing too!
#2. Drink at least 8 glass of water per day. I've made this my habit, bringing water bottle everywhere and making sure I finish it. As we all know, water rejuvenates, hydrates cells and helps them move toxins out and nutrients in. Plus, it does help in losing some weight too :P WIN WIN HABIT, so drink more water (Y)

#3. Eat fruits and vegetables! My fave would be oranges and kiwis :D Oranges are rich in vitamin C, thus improving skin textures and clear skin blemishes. From a source that I read, it stated that consumption and application of Kiwi fruit helps ensure healthy, clear, beautiful skin.

#4. Avoid staying too often in air conditioned room as moisture evaporates quickly within the dry atmosphere of air conditioned. Besides, avoid being under the sun too often as well, thus shopping mall would be the best place to be HAHA jkjk

But still, I don't guarantee that all those steps above can 100% helps to treat dehydrated skin cause my skin is still in dire need of help. Hopefully I'm lucky enough to win this contest, because Cres Wellness has the  Time-release Aqua Cell Yoga Visage! What's that? Well according to Cres Wellness, it is a high-performance treatment for dry and dehydrated skin (you can hear my skin calling for help now) which reinforces skin architecture to provide a complete and thorough solution for skin hydration.
