Of Shaolin and Yee Sang

Last Saturday, I got free tickets to watch Shaolin with the boyf @ Midvalley, courtesy of GSC's FB fanpage. We reached there around 10am, just in time to collect our tickets and the movie started at 10.30pm sharp (:
Shaolin is another Benny Chan's film with famous actors like Andy Lau, Jacky Chan, Nicholas Tze, Fan Bing Bing and more in it. According to Wikipedia, Shaolin is also known as The New Shaolin Temple is a 2011 Hong Kong action film. It is to be an updated version of Jet Li's movie debut, The Shaolin Temple.
Synopsis: China is plunged into strife as feuding warlords try to expand their power by warring over neighboring lands. Fuelled by his success on the battlefield, young and arrogant Hao Jie sneers at Shaolin's masters when he beats one of them in a duel. But pride comes before a fall. When his own family is wiped out by a rival warlord, Hao is forced to take refuge with the monks. As the civil unrest spreads and the people suffer, Hao and the Shaolin masters are forced to take a fiery stand against the evil warlords. They launch a daring plan of rescue and escape.

My verdict: Spoiler alert! I was excited to watch this movie when I first saw its trailer. It turned out to be a sad gruesome action packed movie yet with a little bit of humor that is up to my expectation. It will be a movie that my Dad will like too. Yet the movie is somehow draggy in certain scenes and I was flabbergasted by a scene where a monk was killed brutally by Nicholas Tse. Besides, Buddhist teachings are integrated in the movie as well. Overall I think it's a nice movie yet with a sad ending (because the protagonist died while the antagonist survived, UNFAIR). I rate this movie 3.5 out of 5.

Trailer:

After the movie, we headed back to the boyf's place cause we're gonna have dinner with his family. As usual, I camwhored in the car to kill time.

#1. Self shot
#2. Some shots of us when we stopped there's red light
#3. Traffic on the Federal Highway was amazingly smooth
#4. The boyf (:
#5. Obviously, I was too bored
We had Yee Sang(raw salmon salad) before dinner. Honestly, this is my first time having this so I'm a bit jakun about the thought of Lou Sang with the boyf's family :P and I don't like the taste of it cause there were lots of ginger and sesame seeds.
Lou for higher grades in exam ROFL

Before that, meet Baby Bryant who just turned 8 months old and he has four cute little teeth now! He is growing really fast.
So cute right? :D

Then moving on to the haul of the day; Skinlite Cooling Cucumber Pads from Sasa for only RM3.90! I bought their Aqua Boost Moisturizing Mask for RM3.90 on the next day too. Most of the things in Sasa are on sales now, so go grab some eye and facial masks while stocks last!

On Sunday, I met up with the lovelies for another food adventure again before heading back to Klang. We had shabu shabu @ Plus One Shabu Shabu in One Utama since it was cold and raining outside. Grabbed Big Apple donuts and Auntie Anne's Pretzels after that :P
So that pretty much sum up my awesome weekend ♡♡♡♡♡ before flying back to my home sweet home tomorrow at noon YAY It's the last day of January today and February is finally here, tomorrow to be exact. Please be nice to me :D

Kthanksbai gtg start packing nao!
xx
