Restoran Peng Heong Hakka Paikut

When people mention about Klang, I guess the first thing that comes across your mind would definitely be Bak Kut Teh. People would always come all the way to Klang just for the sake of  BKT. But little did I know that Klang is also famous for this pork ribs that everyone that has been raving about. Man, seems like I've been missing out all these years!

Le family flew over to visit us during the Raya holidays (obviously this is a backdated post :P) so we decided to bring them to try out this famous PaiKut Restoran in Klang since we never had the chance to try it either.
Located just a block away from the Klang Royal Town Mosque, it's pretty easy to find this restaurant. Plus it's the only building there that is painted with emerald green.

We were just in time for lunch and the place was totally packed to the brim. We were quite lucky to secure a large table without waiting long.
Good thing that they have menu illustrated with pictures and prices of each dishes. We ordered most of the signature dishes. After much anticipation, the food is finally served. Ready for your tummy to rumble?
Fried Meatball @ RM1.00/each
Don't be deceived by the look of it, it's really good! It's has a crunchy outer layer and the inner part was compact with minced meat. Dip it in their chili sauce and I'm sure you'll be yearning for a second piece.
Lo and behold, the signature Hakka Pai Kuat Wong (Pork Ribs) that people come here for!
You shall not miss a meal here without these pork ribs, MUST ORDER.
Priced at RM12.00 for two pieces.
The price ranges from RM4 per pax to RM20.
The most succulent and tender pork ribs I've ever tasted and it comes with a sweet sauce.
I seriously don't mind having the whole plate to myself cause it's really that good. Well marinated and grilled to perfection with its slightly burnt crispy skin on top (Y) Speaking of which, I just paid them a second visit there yesterday to have this!
Vinegar Pork Trotter @ RM12.00
One of the dishes that women normally have during their confinement period. I don't really like any dishes that have distinct vinegar smell so I gave it a pass. My parents loved it though!
Claypot Mutton Curry @ RM12.00
Their curry is quite the bomb, flavourful and aromatic just to my liking. I could smell the strong smell of curry once it was served on the table. Having the thick gravy with rice is the way to go along. It would be much better if the mutton tasted less gamey. Recommended dish!
Kangkung Belacan @ RM8.00 which tasted nothing like belacan. My dad even said he can cook better than this lol I'll definitely second that.
Seafood Tofu (RM8) which looks nothing like the picture in the menu -__- The tofu was tasteless and the gravy was pretty bland too.
Too much for 9 pax, you think? Well, we managed to wipe most of them clean HEH
Oh, they serve big bottles of drink to be shared too and it's only around RM3 a bottle. My fave would be their Barley drink and Soya Bean.

One thing for sure is that their price is really reasonable. In fact, it's cheap for a Chinese restaurant I would say. The total bill came up to only RM140+ including drinks and rice. I heard that their assam fish and pork tripe soup are of good quality so perhaps you can try ordering them too (:
So, don't forget to drop by if you're in Klang! Let's give BKT a break and try some yummylicious pai kuat, shall we? :D
