Ochado 茶の道 @ Tokyo Street, Pavilion

It was on Malaysia's Day last Friday, I was in KL with my sister so we decided to try out Ochado after getting quite a number of positive feedback (:

Unlike Chatime and Gong Cha, Ochado originated from Japan thus that explained its location at the newly opened Tokyo Street in Pavilion.

Their specialties (:
Medium sized Okinawa Matcha Milk Tea with Azuki Beans with Pearls @ RM7.90

If you're a green tea person, you'll love the strong fragrant matcha smell (: I was not aware that Azuki beans are added to this drink cause so I had to spit out the red beans everytime I have a sip. I hate red beans T_T  and I somehow feel that their pearls are smaller than Chatime's. Overall, it was okay.

Their wide variety of drinks on the menu really attracted me, I would definitely go back to try their TOP 10 drinks especially the Pop Eggs Milk Tea (one of their best sellers & it's seasonal) and other drinks like Yakult Green Tea. Their price range would be slightly pricey compared to Chatime and Gong Cha, I reckon and extra added toppings will be charged at RM1. Ochado Loyalty Card only valids for 2 months from the date of issue, meh :/

Sea Park Nasi Lemak

As a Malaysian, you gotta love Nasi Lemak!

Introducing you this undeniably famous Nasi Lemak located at Sea Park (everyone knows about it!), a mamak stall just next to Sea Park Maybank. This mamak only operates for dinner till midnight and from what I heard, this place is always full of people. Surprisingly it was quite empty during my visit last night, probably because of the rain. The tables are all placed outdoor and along the corridor of Maybank, good thing that we managed to dine under a roof. Elin, Joeann and I shared two plates of Nasi Lemak Ayam which costs RM4.50 per plate. The nasi lemak are served minutes later after ordering, fast service indeed.

Nasi Lemak served with fragrant rice, sambal, fried chicken, a sunny side up egg with runny yolk, fried anchovies and peanuts.
The crunchy fried chicken is really well marinated and flavorful. Thumbs up for this!
And as for the sambal, it was pretty special cause it has a sweet taste and it wasn't that spicy, suitable for people who couldn't really take spicy food.

Overall, it was okay to me but definitely not the BEST Nasi Lemak I ever had, and the portion was a tad small to me.

MUCCLS Mid Autumn Festival

你好! which means Hello in Chinese.

Last night, I attended Mid Autumn Festival gathering organized by MUCCLS with the bunch and my baby boy (: I never expect that there were actually so many Chinese students in Mahsa and what's even better, we even had our Malay and Indian friends celebrating with us.  Mahsa is definitely expanding in numbers of students, hopefully it's gonna improve and be even better in years to come.

The Mid-Autumn Festival (中秋節), also known as the Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival or Zhongqiu Festival, is a popular lunar harvest festival celebrated by Chinese and Vietnamese people. The Mid-Autumn Festival is held on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese calendar. During this festival, there will definitely mooncakes and brightly lit lanterns. Some even practise match-making, burning incense in reverence to deities on this particular day. — Wikipedia

Pretty lanterns hung on the tree (:

Handmade lantern using paper plates, how creative.

Candles forming <3 Mahsa, we sure love our UNI :P

Another handmade star shaped lantern using LED light operated by battery, how cool!

My awesome classmates (:

Another group photo with our ex clasmates from FIS.

Snowskin mooncakes, anyone?
Almost everyone brought mooncakes each to be shared among us.

More pretty lanterns ~

Weee, look at our colourful mini tanglungs!

<3<3

Another handmade 'Green Lantern' using polystyrene food box, how creative LOLOL

Another group photo with two of our lecturers :D COHORT 4 FTW!

H for Hildamilda :3

Kew and Joeann (:

Houyi and Chang'e in action and obviously I was the jade rabbit :P
(To know more about the actual story, click here )

We also prepared wish tags for everyone to make their wish, hopefully they will come true (:

Burnt lantern, oops!
Cute lanterns! :D

This one is my favourite (: So pretty!

Finally, we get to see the moon around 10-ish cause it was covered by thick haze earlier.

Last but not least, a last group photo with the attendees! Too bad some of them left early, or else we will be a big happy family protrait. MAHSA BOLEH!

The event was indeed a great success, everyone left happily sweat-soaked after 3 hours of fun and laughter. Plus, there were a lot of positive feedbacks from the attendees. Hopefully there will more events like this in the near future, I will be absolutely looking forward!

Setia Alam Pasar Malam Part II

Yesterday I went to Setia Alam Pasar Malam again but this time round I was there with Joeann and her ex high school mates. I was there for only one mission; that is to try out the food that I didn't get to eat during my first visit.

Caution ahead: It will be one hella post, heavy loaded with photos (:
Loving the weather (:
The nail colour and nail art still stays after two weeks; feel so reluctant to remove it since I don't always have pretty nails ):

The night market will slowly get crowded after 6pm, the time where the vendors start their business.

Showing you some random stalls;

Selling chicken wings and skewers of chicken liver and bishops' nose.

Sweet corn! :D

Va of fresh vegetables to choose from.

Fresh flowers, anyone? (:

Overrated fake crocs footwear :P

Smurf plushies of different sizes for you to smurf all day long LOL

Never ending angry birds' fever, I just don't get it.

What's good about this night market is that almost every stall provides tables and chairs for people to eat on the spot.

Now move on to the highlight of the day;
This is Putu Piring, my first time trying it (: Tastes quite okay, not too sweet.
RM2.50 for 5 pieces

好好味 Asam Laksa
I never liked Asam Laksa when I first tried it but this was one really good (Y)
Spicy and sour at the right proportion, and look at the big chunk of fish flesh! & a local recommended this stall serves the best Asam Laksa at the night market.

Herbal Soup with Pork Meat Balls; RM2.00 per cup with 5 meatballs.
The pork meatballs are really good, fresh and chewy! As for the soup, it was lack in aroma and flavour.

The Pan Mee that has truckloads of people queueing up for it and guess what, it was such a total let down!  The noodles was not cooked well, the black fungus was bitter, the supposed to be crispy anchovies was stale and I can't really taste what's so special about it.

Have you ever seen a Winnie The Pooh cellphone? So chio right? :P It belongs to Joeann's friend and everyone was like staring at her everytime she uses it LOL

Combo Taufufa @ RM3.50 per bowl
Instead of Gula Melaka, soya bean was added and there were four huge glutinous rice balls filled with red bean paste; definitely something different. I like it (:

Spotted magic ice cream @ RM1 per stick with different flavours; grape, green apple, vitagen, sour plum and orange. Didn't expect to get it here cause I thought I can only get these at Jonker Street, Melaka!

Lanterns for mooncake festival are all over the night market.

Big fat looking pomelo (:

Stinky tofu! The smell is really unbearable, I wonder how people can even stand the smell when they eat it o_o

Shark's fin soup :O

Hello Kitty's merchandises of all kind!!! Can I have all of these *big shiny eyes*

Cute bunnies for sale, IT'S SO FLUFFLY I'M WANNA DIEEEEE

The green light just attracted me, looked like some kind of UFO spaceship and hey what's with all these people looking at my camera :P

So, that's pretty much it (: There is really a lot of stuff there! We spent 3 hours there, wandering around and hunting for food in every possible corner we could find. At the end of the night, my tummy was indeed happy. How nice if Setia Alam is near my place and is accessible by public transport T__T Asam laksa, I'll be missing you and I still didn't get to try Mook's pizza!

There goes another weekend.
