Madam Bee's Kitchen

Aloha, so back to more posts on Terengganu! Remember the last one about Pasar Payang? As I mentioned, Pasar Payang is located near Chinatown, so every week the girls and I made our way to Chinatown for Madam Bee's Kitchen (MBK) as well! It is one of the famous restaurants in Kuala Terengganu owned by Mdm. Tan Choo Bee so I guess that's how the name Madam Bee's Kitchen come about. She is a several awards winner and was even featured in The Stars, and besides MBK is ranked #2 out of 19 restaurants in KT by tripsadvisor.com.my.
At Madam Bee, we are the only place that serves traditional home-cooked Peranakan dishes within the state -  a tribute to the disappearing Peranakan (Nyonya) culture, that has more than 200 years of history. — Madam Bee's Kitchen menu
The menu, simple with words and pictures to illustrate.

That's their small kitchen behind the divider.

The interior is decorated with vintage furniture and photos all over the walls like those one of those old school kopitiams.

Photo of various celebrities and DJs from MYfm that visited Mdm Bee's Kitchen :DDD
MBK Nasi Lemak; RM5.90. The sambal is slightly sweet and less spicy that the usual one you, that's what makes the nasi lemak special but still yummy :9

Curry Laksa; RM5.90. It was soooo good that I can finish the whole bowl of thick and creamy curry gravy. Definitely one of the best I've ever had!

Nasi Kerabu; RM6.50
Mee Jawa; RM5.50
I've tried most of the dishes and I have to say Curry Laksa and the Nasi Lemak are my favourite! I repeat Curry Laksa and Nasi Lemak :DDD Some said the Nasi Ayam Kicap is not bad too but I didn't get to try it. The food is pretty delicious plus it's real reasonable, that's the reason I wouldn't mind visiting it every week. The place will be quite packed with tourists during lunch hours especially on Friday and Saturday. I supposed it's halal since I've seen a Malay lady working there before and MBK does not serve pork (:

She was interviewed by Ah Xian before, don't play play! :P

So if you're around in KT, you'll know where to find nice and cheap peranakan food!
